Overview
The all-new Dacia Duster for 2024 proves that u2018budgetu2019 no longer means basic. Built on Renault Groupu2019s modern CMF-B platform, it brings rugged new looks, a far smarter interior with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and a choice of efficient hybrid powertrains u2014 all for supermini money. Nothing else in the UK offers this much SUV for under u00a319,000.
The clever pick is the Hybrid 140, which uses Renaultu2019s proven E-Tech system for strong economy and nippy town performance, while the TCe 130 mild-hybrid even offers proper four-wheel drive for muddy farms and snowy lanes. Inside there are Daciau2019s YouClip accessory mounts, washable wipe-clean upholstery on Extreme trim, and genuinely roomy seating for five. The 472-litre boot swallows family life with ease.
It will not match a Nissan Qashqai for refinement, and the infotainment is simpler than premium rivals, but the Dusteru2019s honesty is its charm. Insurance is cheap, servicing costs are the lowest in the class, and residuals are superb because demand always outstrips supply. If you want maximum car per pound in 2024, the Duster is simply unbeatable.
