Dacia Jogger 2022 review
Overview
The Dacia Jogger arrived in the UK in early 2022 as the cheapest genuine seven-seater on sale, and it remains one of the cleverest family buys of its era: the length and practicality of an estate, the space of an MPV, and the price of a supermini. UK pre-orders opened in December 2021 with first deliveries in the first half of 2022, and at launch the Jogger was sold exclusively as a seven-seater. This page covers the 2022 launch cars, and the featured car is the 1.0 TCe 110 in Essential trim, launched at £14,995.
The only 2022 UK engine is the 1.0 TCe 110: a 999cc three-cylinder turbo petrol producing 110 hp and 200 Nm, driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. It covers 0-62 mph in 11.2 seconds, with WLTP economy of around 47-49 mpg and 130-136 g/km of CO2 depending on trim and wheels. Do not mistake the later Hybrid 140 for a 2022 car: the 1.6 hybrid did not reach UK buyers until the second quarter of 2023, from £22,595, so a 2022-plated Jogger in the UK is a TCe 110 petrol. Launch trims were Essential (£14,995), Comfort (£16,595) and the limited-run Extreme SE (£17,395), though prices rose fast during 2022 — by July the range had already climbed to £16,645-£18,745.
Practicality is the Jogger's superpower. The third row genuinely seats adults, with two individually folding and removable seats, and the boot measures 160 litres with all seven seats up, 565 litres in five-seat mode, and up to 1,807 litres with the seats folded (Dacia's current measurement quotes 212 litres and 2,085 litres respectively — the gap is a measurement-standard difference, not a different car). At 4,547 mm long with a 2,897 mm wheelbase it is no wider than a family hatch, yet it tows up to 1,200 kg braked.
The headline caveat is safety: the Jogger scored just one star in Euro NCAP's 2021 test (adult 70%, child 69%, safety assist 39%), based on the sister Sandero Stepway's crash tests. It lost its second star because there is no seatbelt reminder for the third row and the side-curtain airbags do not extend far enough to protect third-row occupants, and its AEB detects vehicles only, not pedestrians or cyclists — crash protection itself was rated roughly equivalent to a four-star car. The original warranty was three years/60,000 miles, so a 2022 car is now out of cover unless dealer-service extensions were kept up. Check for intermittent warning lights, scuffed hard plastics, and inspect underneath for early corrosion on a family workhorse.
