Dodge Charger Sixpack Lands in the UK from £70k
American muscle is officially coming back to Britain. The new Dodge Charger Sixpack — the petrol-powered, straight-six version of the eighth-generation Charger — has been confirmed for UK sale, with orders now being taken and the first cars due to arrive at the country's only official retailer. KWA, the European importer of Dodge and Ram, has appointed Unity Automotive as the primary UK retailer for the Charger. The first examples will soon land at the company's Oxford showroom on Banbury Road, where prospective buyers will be able to view, test drive, personalise and place their order for the two-door coupe. Unity runs a dedicated American car team that also handles Ram trucks, so it knows the import game well. What will it cost you? The two-door Sixpack R/T starts at £70,000, while the more powerful Sixpack Scat Pack commands £76,000. Those figures are roughly 78 per cent higher than the American prices — the R/T starts at $51,990 and the Scat Pack at $56,990 across the Atlantic. The premium covers international shipping, import duties, homologation for European roads and the margins of a very low-volume retail operation. For context, European markets pay around €66,000 for the same entry car, so Britain is the priciest destination of all. Under the bonnet sits Dodge's 3.0-litre twin-turbo Hurricane straight six. The R/T produces 420hp and 468lb ft of torque, good for a claimed 0-60mph sprint of 4.6 seconds, while the Scat Pack lifts output to 550hp and 531lb ft, dipping below four seconds to 60mph and covering the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. Every Charger comes with standard all-wheel drive, though the petrol cars can send 100 per cent of their torque to the rear wheels at the push of a button — old-school muscle-car theatre with a modern twist. The Scat Pack also adds Line Lock and six-piston Brembo brakes. There is one big caveat for UK buyers: every imported Charger keeps its factory left-hand drive layout. For some buyers that will be an insurmountable hurdle on British roads — toll booths, car parks and overtaking on single-carriageway roads all become more awkward. For others, the novelty of a genuine American muscle car at the wheel will outweigh the inconvenience. The prices put the Charger squarely against serious competition. A Ford Mustang Dark Horse costs about £70,000 in the UK, the BMW M2 xDrive starts at £74,255 and the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 sits at £76,280, while a BMW M4 is a much pricier £93,000. The Mustang — Britain's long-standing favourite muscle car — is clearly the benchmark Dodge is aiming at. Interestingly, the four-door Charger and the all-electric Charger Daytona can also be ordered through Unity Automotive. The Daytona R/T makes 536hp and the Daytona Scat Pack 670hp, with 0-60mph in as little as 3.3 seconds, though electric prices run well above the petrol cars. Why sell a muscle car in Europe at all? Sales of the new Charger in America have been much lower than Stellantis expected, so the company is looking abroad to find extra buyers. Britain's fondness for the Mustang suggests there is at least a small appetite for V8-style theatre — even if the Sixpack's engine has six cylinders rather than eight. For UK enthusiasts, this is a rare thing: a brand-new American muscle car with a factory warranty, bought through an official importer rather than a grey import. It will remain a niche choice — left-hand drive, high running costs and a £70,000 price tag see to that — but it gives British drivers something no German rival quite offers: old-fashioned American attitude, straight from the showroom. Frequently asked questions How much does the Dodge Charger Sixpack cost in the UK? The two-door Sixpack R/T starts at £70,000 and the Sixpack Scat Pack at £76,000, sold through Unity Automotive in Oxford, the UK's official Dodge Charger retailer. Is the UK Dodge Charger left-hand drive or right-hand drive? All UK-imported Chargers retain their factory left-hand drive layout — there is no right-hand drive version. What engine does the Charger Sixpack have? A 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six petrol engine producing 420hp in the R/T and 550hp in the Scat Pack, with standard all-wheel drive. How fast is the Dodge Charger Sixpack? The R/T does 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds; the Scat Pack manages it in under four seconds and covers the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. When will UK deliveries begin? Orders are being taken now and the first examples are expected at Unity Automotive's Oxford showroom on Banbury Road shortly.
