Omoda 4 European Debut at Paris Show; UK Launch 2027
The Omoda 4 made its European motor show debut on the Paris Motor Show's press day (Monday), as OMODA&JAECOO set up its stand at the French exhibition for the very first time. The 91st edition of the show runs from 12 to 18 October 2026 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with the public days now under way until Sunday.

For UK buyers the headline is simple: the Omoda 4 is confirmed for Britain in 2027. The compact SUV will join the Omoda 5 in the range, aimed squarely at younger, technology-focused buyers, and it will be the first model in the UK line-up to feature the brand's Super AI Cockpit — a next-generation infotainment system designed to understand driver intent, learn the driver's habits and deliver increasingly personalised interactions.

Design is one of the car's calling cards. The Omoda 4 wears the brand's 'Cyber Mecha' design language: sharp geometric forms, multidimensional surfaces and distinctive lighting that give it a deliberately striking presence, with a technology-led cabin inspired by gaming and digital environments. It is the boldest expression yet of a look the brand is rolling out across its range.

Powertrain detail is still emerging, but the car was shown at its global debut at Auto China 2026 as a full hybrid using OMODA's SHS-H Super Hybrid System. That suggests the European and UK versions will lean on hybridisation rather than pure petrol power — a sensible call given how quickly the British market is electrifying.

Timing matters. OMODA&JAECOO arrives in Paris on the back of a record-breaking month in the UK. The Jaecoo 7 was Britain's best-selling new car in September 2026, taking the monthly sales crown for the second time this year after also leading the market in March. It is a remarkable result for a brand that entered the UK only in January 2025: the Jaecoo 7 recorded 10,814 registrations in September, finishing ahead of the Tesla Model 3 (9,929), the Ford Puma (6,958) and the Kia Sportage (6,521). The UK market totalled 350,536 registrations, up 12 per cent year on year — the strongest September since 2017. Battery-electric registrations climbed 36.3 per cent to 99,199 cars, a 28.3 per cent market share, and electrified vehicles of all kinds accounted for 58.4 per cent of the month's sales. SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes called the EV performance "a major achievement", pointing to greater model choice, manufacturer discounts and government grants.

OMODA&JAECOO itself registered 22,296 vehicles in the UK in September — a 6.37 per cent market share and more than double its total of a year earlier — taking cumulative UK sales past 100,000 in under two years.

The Paris stand will be a showcase of where the brand house goes next. Beyond the Omoda 4, the display will carry models from across both line-ups — including the September chart-topper, the Jaecoo 7, offered with petrol power or the plug-in hybrid SHS-P powertrain — alongside the Omoda 5 NEXT and Omoda 7, plus a demonstration of the Super AI Cockpit. The brand has also flagged an October International User Summit with the global debut of an all-new model, the OMODA X, scheduled for 20 October.

For UK buyers the Omoda 4 matters because it plugs directly into the market's hottest segment: compact SUVs with electrified powertrains at value prices. Its Chery stablemate, the Tiggo 7, is covered at https://drivepedia.site/car/chery-tiggo-7-2025 . If the Omoda 4 follows the Jaecoo 7's playbook on pricing, rivals from Kia, Hyundai and Nissan will be watching closely.
