Overview

The Peugeot E-5008 is the seven-seat electric SUV the family market was waiting for: the first mid-size EV with three rows of seats as standard. Based on Stellantis's STLA Medium platform and built in France, it launched in the UK at £48,595 before an early price realignment brought the entry point down to £40,595.

The core Electric 210 model pairs a 73 kWh battery with a 213 bhp (157 kW) front motor: 0–62 mph takes 9.7 seconds, top speed is around 106 mph and official range is 309 miles. DC rapid charging peaks at 160 kW. A Long Range version with a 96.9 kWh battery and up to 415 miles is also offered.

Practicality is the point: 259 litres of boot with all seven seats up, 748 litres with the third row folded and 1,815 litres with rows two and three down. The 21-inch panoramic i-Cockpit screen dominates a characterful cabin, and at 4.79 m long it is big but still manageable.

Nothing else this size offers seven electric seats for the money — the Kia EV9 is larger and pricier. Performance is leisurely rather than lively, but for big families wanting to go electric without compromise on seats, the E-5008 stands alone.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Peugeot E-5008 really a seven-seater?
Yes — all UK E-5008s have seven seats as standard. The rearmost pair are best for children or shorter journeys, but the sliding middle row helps free up legroom.
What is the range of the Peugeot E-5008 Long Range?
The 96.9 kWh Long Range model officially manages up to 415 miles — among the longest ranges of any electric SUV. The standard 73 kWh car manages 309 miles.
How much did the E-5008's price change?
It launched at £48,595 but Peugeot soon cut the entry price to £40,595, making it far more competitive against diesel seven-seaters on monthly PCP costs.
How fast does the E-5008 charge?
Up to 160 kW DC, taking the 73 kWh battery from 10 to 80% in around 30 minutes. A 7.4 kW home wallbox needs roughly 11 hours for a full charge.
What is the real-world range of the standard E-5008?
Expect 240–270 miles in mixed driving from the 73 kWh model — enough for most family duties, with the Long Range there for serious mileages.
